Iphone 3gs Earphone Remote Not Working


Today, I have been listening to my music while I work and decided to update my phone to the most recent IOS (v. 9.1). Guest Thats pretty crazy Gary finding a piece stuck down there lol Glad u got ur phone/headphones working better! Who knew. I have changed three headsets, nothing worked. I was very surprised at just how much fluff had collected in my headphone socket, and suspect the same may be true for anyone else who regularly carries their phone in I didn't believe it at first. I reported the problem at my dealer and got a new pair yesterday. a lint exactly that size came out!!

also ive tried measuring both ways and there is no difference, so as far as i can tell there are no diodes in play.. Jsungu I reset my network settings and viola! i can't believe that much lint would build up. I've never dropped it in water or gotten it wet. nothing, i read this online and it worked. As I said before the "circuit" is unpowered so it must be some type of resistor etc. My mic and button hadn't been working for months now.

Headphones work great, no issues. I use the Bose on-ear headphones, and they have a mobile headset for it for $40 bucks, but it only has one button, to answer the calls on the iphone.
